What We Do

Our Mission

Glimpses and Visions is dedicated to exploring Alberta’s health system through history, art, and advocacy. By highlighting key figures, past and present challenges, and future possibilities, this platform fosters a deeper understanding of health equity and inspires meaningful change. Through storytelling, education, and creative expression, we aim to bridge knowledge and action, empowering students to envision and work toward a more just and accessible healthcare system for all.

“Activism works. So what I’m telling you to do now, is to act. Because no one is too small to make a difference.”

— Greta Thunberg

Our Vision

  • We envision a world where healthcare is accessible, just, and responsive to the diverse needs of all individuals, regardless of income, identity, or background.

  • By sharing the past and present realities of Alberta’s healthcare system, we aim to inform, engage, and empower individuals to advocate for policies and practices that prioritize health well-being for all.

  • We believe in the power of storytelling and creative expression to challenge perspectives, inspire action, and bring visibility to the lived experiences of those most impacted by health inequities.

  • We strive to highlight the social, economic, and political factors that shape health outcomes, fostering dialogue on how healthcare can become truly inclusive and fair.

  • Understanding history is the first step toward meaningful progress. By learning from the past, engaging with the present, and envisioning the future, we hope to contribute to a more compassionate, informed, and community-driven approach to healthcare.
